The Largest Asteroid ☄️Is About 965 Km Wide. Ceres was the first and biggest object ever to be deemed an asteroid. It was discovered by Giuseppe Piazzi, an Italian astronomer, in 1801. Located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, Ceres accounts for a whopping 33% of the entire belt’s mass!
