Dramatic image of NGC 5468, a spiral galaxy 140 million light-years from Earth. In the last 20 years we have seen 5 stars explode as supernova in this galaxy. In normal spiral galaxies like our own, we witness maybe 1 every 50 years, so NGC 5468 is an oddball. [3979 x 3897] (Image:ESA/Hubble)
