As Leonardo DiCaprio said yesterday in NYC @GLBLCTZN “The cause of our environment and the fight for the world’s poor are inherently linked. The planet can no longer wait. The underprivileged can no longer be ignored. This is truly our moment for action.” "The world needs to manifest change.” Using existing renewable energy technologies we can meet 100% of the worlds energy demands by 2050.” Here a worker loads charcoal onto boats. This charcoal was made from trees. Deforestation amounts for about 20% of all global emissions of CO2 per year. More than all transportation combined. People need to eat and they need jobs - but there are better options than cutting our forests for charcoal, oil palm and other products.

50% of our oxygen comes from oceans and plankton - 50% from forests - where big cats live.
If you save the top predator in any ecosystem you save everything underneath them.

See Racing Extinction. A vital film for our time.
There is hope . Each one of us can make a difference, saving big cats, and saving the oceans and all that live within, thus saving Ourselves.
90% of big fish and sharks have disappeared from our oceans, from overfishing and shark finning. The top predators in any ecosystem are vital for the health of that ecosystem.
